I live with my husband and two boys (ages 19 and 16), and my dog, in North Carolina, where I was born and raised.
I grew up attending church, studied the Bible, was raised by a godly family with a mom who was an awesome prayer warrior . . . but still my walk with God left a lot to be desired. Trying to live for God and be accepted in the world is a miserable place to be. You've basically got one foot in both camps.
This is my advice to people of all ages who are living a similar lifestyle. . . PICK A CAMP! (Joshua 24:14-15)So, that's exactly what I did when I was 21 years old, I picked "living for Jesus" and I've been following Him ever since. The road has been long and curvy, I've sometimes stopped, sometimes detoured, but always got back on the road toward my destiny, because God is faithful.
This blog is meant to reflect what I've learned as I dealt with spiritual bondage, wandered in my own desert, experienced God's deliverance, and walked toward my promise land.
But first, I started with laying the foundation in the Word in Genesis and Joshua talking about how the Israelites went from captivity in Egypt to possessing the land God had given them. I will show the many parallels between their story and my own spiritual journey with the Lord.

WHAT IS FREEDOM NOW MINISTRIES?
Freedom NOW Ministries is based on 2 Corinthians 6:2
“For He says,’In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, NOW is the time of God’s favor, NOW is the day of salvation.”
While so many have the mentality of just surviving this life until they
make it to Heaven, we believe in helping people live out their God-given destiny here on earth. Our heart is to see people set free from all bondage NOW, so they can enjoy the abundant life God has planned for them.
We believe that God has called and equipped us with gifts from the Holy Spirit to fulfill what was spoken in Isaiah 61:1-3:
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.”
Too many people (including Christians) are suffering from fear, depression, rejection, physical ailments, and all kinds of bondage. We have been given authority over these things, and it’s our desire to minister freedom and deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord! The disciples and the early Church were sent out to do the works of the Lord. We know that the Bible says “He’s the same yesterday, today and forever”, as well as “He’s not a respecter of persons”. So if He did it for them, and through them, He’ll do it again through us. Not only do we want to set the captives free, we long to teach, and encourage others to walk in this same anointing and fulfill the call.
Ephesians 3:9-11 says “His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
